Marketing Seminars: True Confessions and My Big Mistake
This past week I held my Information Marketing Masters Workshop here in Houston. To say that it was a success would be an understatement. The feedback that I received from the 80+ attendees was absolutely overwhelming. We spent over... ...4 hours learning about graphics design and web development. ...14 hours learning about how to generate a huge responsive list. (By the way, my shopping cart was shut down
this week because my mailing list exceeded it's 150,000 leads limit. The bad
news was that I lost a LOT of sales. ...7 hours learning about how to come up with and develop hot selling information products. and... ...6 hours learning how to expand into a multi-million dollar infomarketing business. In fact, there was so much content, that we simply couldn't get to it all. And the people that attended were fantastic...which leads me to the main point of today's newsletter. My Big Mistake At the end of my workshop, I gave a presentation called, "My Top 10 Biggest Mistakes and My Top 10 Smartest Moves." In this presentation I opened up and confessed to some of the biggest and dumbest mistakes I've made as an information marketer. One of those mistakes was... ...NOT ATTENDING MORE LIVE EVENTS. Why Attending Live Events Is So Important You see, when you attend a live event, you rub shoulders with like-minded, entrepreneurial people who share the same passions and goals as you do. There is something special that happens when you bring together a group of passionate, like-minded people. Relationships are made, ideas flow and joint ventures and mastermind groups are created. In fact, there were three wonderful women who attended who all live in Phoenix who have created their own private mastermind group as a result of the workshop. I'm sure they wouldn't mind me telling people who they are... 1. Dr. Janet Bruno - http://www.OvercomeObesityNow.com 2. Annette Bau CFP - http://www.MillionaireSeries.com 3. Syl LeDuc MEd, MPEC - http://www.TheLeadershipCenter.com (These are some high powered, high class people!) Attending live events also get you out of your daily element and puts you into an environment that allows you to review your current business practices and helps you to expand your thinking on how to make dramatic improvements in your business. In essence, it helps you to "work on your business instead of in your business." Only Two Marketing Seminars Since 2000 I've only attended two marketing seminars as an attendee. One was back in 2000 in Las Vegas and the other was last year in Washington DC. Both events were excellent. I learned a great deal at both events and met a lot of important people. After putting on my recent workshop, I was reminded just how important it is to get out and interact with other like-minded people. So, for 2007, I would strongly urge you to consider attending at least two live events in your industry. You'll be glad you did. Here's What a Few People Said About My Recent Workshop If you're wondering what you missed, here's waht a few people had to say after attending my recent Information Marketing Masters Workshop.
Thanks to all the attendees of my workshop and I look forward to meeting many more of you in the future! All the best. David |
